My entry into the world of the wood lathe didn't begin like many others. It didn't come along as a second career, I wasn't raised around the skill, and I had never taken any previous classes in woodworking. Sometimes it's those closest to us that see the potential within us; which is what happened to me. After some nagging encouragement, I finally agreed to spend the day with a seasoned wood turner who opened my eyes to bowl turning.
Since that day I have read, attended symposiums, and of course practice, practice, practice. All of this led me to the talents of Keith Gotschall from Colorado. Spending time with him brought all the pieces together as he encouraged me to take my understanding and make it my own. Doing this allows me to put my own personal, creative touch on each bowl I turn.
